Opportunity to Participate in The International Gardens

Feature of Opportunity

This is the outdoor garden exhibitions of foreign countries which takes place during the period in which Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 is open. Foreign governments, municipalities, international organizations such as UNICEF, FAO etc. as well as other relevant associations, foreign chamber of commerce, tourism organizations etc. from private and public sectors are invited to express respect for His Majesty the King through demonstration of the arts of garden, blooms, blossoms, literature and tradition in compliance with the main theme of the Exposition. Each garden has a site area from 500 square meters. No rent shall be charged for the space.

Form of Participation

  • Exhibitors are free to take part as official national participation under their own entity or country collective entries. For utmost convenience, the exhibitors are recommended to appoint a main contractor provided by the Organizer to offer turnkey services including custom formalities, garden design, construction, maintenance and dismantlement.
  • The garden exhibitions shall express the national character which may be gardening technique, statues, architecture and local plants which are attractive and interesting.
  • Each garden shall be deemed to be part of Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006. Participants may seek approval to distribute information detailing the theme or knowledge related to the garden or to distribute gifts of no commercial value. No commercial activities are allowed in the garden.

Qualification of Participants

  • To be representatives of government of foreign countries, international organizations (such as UNICEF, FAO), members of AIPH or other foreign entities such as tourism authority, foreign trade, plant association, investment promotion.
  • Participants must be formally invited by the government of Thailand or the organizer.

Benefit

  • Participants are entitled to join the competition pursuant to the condition prescribed by the organizer.
  • Participants are entitled to apply symbol of the organization to the garden exhibited. The symbol may remain as a part of the garden after the closing of exhibition.
  • Participants are entitled to apply the symbol of Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 to their public relation material pursuant to the condition prescribed by the organizer.
  • Participants may participate in the public relations plan for Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006
  • Participants will be given priority to participate in special events held at Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 such as national day activities, cultural shows, shows and competitions for the indoor exhibition, sale of goods and foods in the area specified by the organizer.
  • Participants are entitled to arrange for selling souvenir by using not more than 15% of the exhibition area.
  • Information of the participating gardens shall be widely promoted.

Roles and Responsibilities of Participants

  • To comply with Exhibition Regulations of Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006
  • To be responsible for management and costs related to the garden exhibitions such as transportation, customs clearance, phytosanitary, design, construction, maintenance, infrastructure costs, management fee calculated based on the size of the exhibition area including costs of removal and return the exhibition area to the organizer. Participants may organize the exhibition themselves or assign their duties to contractors appointed by the organizer at the costs of the participants.
  • To maintain the garden exhibitions at the good condition throughout the exhibition period.
  • To express their intention to transfer the rights in the garden exhibitions to the organizer at the end of the exhibition provided that the decision of the organizer whether to accept the transfer shall be final.

Procedure and Timeframe

  • Organizations intending to participate shall apply to the organizer from now until 31 December 2005 or until the designated areas are fully booked.
  • The design of the garden exhibitions must be submitted to the organizer within 30 days from the date of application.
  • The approving committee will review and approve the design of the garden once a month commencing from October 2005 onwards.
  • The organizer shall allocate the exhibition area for each participant according to the design and theme of the garden exhibition. The decision of the organizer shall be final.
  • Following the approval of the design, participants shall enter into the agreement with the organizer and procure a performance bond as prescribed.
  • After the participants has entered into the agreement and procured the guarantee, the participants shall start the construction of the garden exhibitions from 1 June 2006 and complete the construction within 1 October 2006. Participants from any countries intending to start the construction prior to the said period shall inform the organizer in order to arrange and specify other date as appropriate.
  • Participants may express their intention to transfer the rights in the garden exhibitions to the organizer within 29 December 2006. If the organizer confirms the acceptance of the transfer, participants shall arrange for the transfer from 1-15 February 2007.
  • If the participants do not intend to transfer the rights in the garden exhibitions to the organizer or the organizer refuses to accept the transfer, the participants shall dismantle the garden exhibitions out of the exhibition area and return the exhibition area to the organizer at any time during the period from 1 -28 February 2007.
