On December 1, 2006, the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 celebrated its one-month anniversary by welcoming its millionth visitor, a lady named Ms. Supawan Narkkram who traveled from another province called Nakornsawan province, a five-hour drive, to Chiang Mai province just to see the show.
The millionth visitor was welcomed by the expo organizer’s executives, including the Deputy Director General, a musical band, the expo’s mascots, and a good number of media representatives. She was announced the millionth visitor in front of uncountable series of flash lights from the media’s cameras and received an accommodation room from a six-star hotel called Oriental Mandarin Dara Dhevi Hotel, a VVIP tour around the expo on an electric car, a gift set from the expo and plenty of media exposure.
As the weather gets cooler in Thailand, the visitor number of the expo continues to increase. People who are interested to visit the expo are advised to check the expo’s official Web site for crowd density on each day. On the home page of the Web site, click on “Visitor Attendance Calendar” on the right-hand side and study the calendar. The days are marked with circles of three different colors; red for “heavy” or the crowded day while orange and green indicate medium and light traffic of visitors.
