Recent innovations in the fields of food and grocery logistics and marketing have introduced supply chain management as a more efficient management practice to distribute even the most perishable of food products. To be implemented successfully, supply chain management requires that organizations shift towards more collaboration and cooperation with their suppliers and customers in order to optimize distribution, purchases, forecasting and replenishment according to customer demand.
